Book Cover Design

They say you can never judge a book by its cover. However, that’s typically what readers do. After having read the book, look at the cover. Could you make it better? Could you represent the story in a more artistic way?

Directions:

Book Cover Art and Design:

Using Adobe Sparks, Photoshop, Gimp, SumoPaint, (or any imaging software you own) design your own book cover. Size must be at least half a page minimum. (Hand drawn art must be in color and must be scanned, not photographed.)

Response Paragraphs:

In two to three paragraphs explain why you chose your design, what the cover symbolizes or describes based off the reading of the book, and explain how it is different than the original book cover. This should be an in depth look on how you saw the book, and why you designed the cover the way you did.

Requirements:

  • Art must be your own work
  • Must include the Title and Author name on the cover
  • 1 Paragraph written response
